Review on Play-Asia

If you see this post, I presume that you already know about Play-Asia is a online store, but you want more further details on how is the shipment are handled or others information you need. So read through it, and you might found something you want to know.

Well, I ordered a figure from Play-Asia at 14 November, then they send me a email titled “Play-Asia.com Order #17113589 Item Summary‏” – the #17113589 shall differ, its just a order code for them to identify your order. Inside the email, it would just give you a summary about what item you have ordered, they also include a link that you can manage your order, cancel your order, pay for your order etc. If you wish to edit your order list, please do it before the order is confirmed as they say “Orders are processed every few hours. If you wish to make any change to your order, please do not wait or you will risk the order being sent without change“.

Second email that I receive along with the previous email, this one is titled “Play-Asia.com Order #17113589 – Payment methods‏”. As the title say, the payment method you wish to use to pay for your order. They provide all the descriptions about what payment methods you can use in the email, and a link for you which direct you to pay for your item. Payment methods :

  • Credit Card (Visa Card/Mastercard/Eurocard)
  • PayPal
  • Moneybookers
  • Bank transfer (T/T) to our bank account (HSBC – The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation)

They will also include the bank account number for you to bank in, please read the mail carefully before you make a payment.

To pay for my order, I use the Credit Card (Visa Card/Mastercard/Eurocard) method. Well, I have some problem with the card, so there is few day delay. After successful payment via credit card at 18 November, they send me a invoice via email. Surprisingly, they ship the item within the same day – how fast!

The blue color box will be filled with your name & your address. The red box will filled with your credit card number.

Well, previously I had selected Air Economy Box as it is free shipment and I don’t rush for the figure to come at my door step within a week. But I pray that the figure don’t come defected.

Play-Asia stated at their website about Air Economy Box :
This shipping option is available for smaller shipments with a weight below 2kg. Airmail shipments are carried out through your local post office. Though we ship out all Airmail parcels insured and registered, there is no online tracking facility available for this service. It usually takes around 5 to 14 days for Airmail shipments to arrive to your destination. However, under certain circumstances it can take up to 4-5 weeks.

And so, a rectangular box arrive at my door step at 11 December, though it take 23 days – within 3-4 week range. I live in Malaysia, Play-Asia ship the product from Hong Kong to my place, so I think that take some time to reach. But I am glad that the whole shipment didn’t gone missing, as it will take longer time if resend is made. So how the box look like? See below.

The blue box will filled by your name and your address info. *I purposely make it covered by the blue box anyway, as I don’t want someone unknown knock at my house gate* lol

As you can see, the box had quite some bend there, so it really worry me about what is inside. The box is sealed quite tightly so I had to use knife to cut it off to open the box.

Side view of the box, don’t ask me about what the number for as I don’t know.

Fuh, looks good so far, no bend inside. They also include a coupon too – 5USD discount for minimum 50USD purchase at Play-Asia.

The figure box is covered by polystyrene and bubble wrapper to avoid great impact. Well handled by Play-Asia.

The figure box is wrapped with thin white paper, and I just peel it off as it is easy.

Condition still good, no defect. Covered & tightly secured nicely inside the figure box. Mostly all manufacturer tighten the figure with a sticky plastic which stick onto the transparent box, which minimize the vibration of the figure inside the box & reduce impact.

Finally, Ryuna from Shining Wind by Kotobukiya can ready to be placed on my cabinet in my room. Well I place it above my computer when I taking this pic, image is not quite that clear as my hand vibrate and my camera is quite sux. xD

In my opinion, Play-Asia done a good job in handling the product. The shipment is quite a bit delay, but still are in considerable range & more importantly the product arrive at house without any problems. And yes, I would buy things from Play-Asia again – until I found things that I am unsatisfied with and stop purchasing from them :P
